There is a reason these cities are affordable!!! Murders, drugs, gang activity, increased crime, poor healthcare and no police protection!!!!! Beware, all these places make their own rules!!!!!!
Fresno one of the better cities to live in the Central Valley. But it’s racist too! Only Black woman in the neighborhood; white neighbors rather turn their head than say hello and keep it moving. But, there are redeeming qualities here, such as upscale restaurants and shopping not too bad. Good place to raise a family but stay out of the hood. I hated here, but not bad for those raising a family. I live in upscale neighborhood in a beautiful ranch style house on a third of an acre (too big for one person), elementary school at the end of block and restaurants within 5 minutes. IMO, nice place for non blacks. If u black it’s durable, if you can handle the overt racism. For me as a widow, I just do me and mind my own damn business!
What is the cheapest area of California to live in?

That is not Oakhurst. It is a very small mountain town.
